Pink Sapphire

Unheated pink sapphires from Sri Lanka.

Isn't it amazing that the tiny presence  of iron and chromium in corundum can transform  a basically colourless crystal composed of aluminium and oxygen into a magnificent  gemstone displaying  the entire pink spectrum ranging all the way from the lightest pastel pinks through to the intense and vibrant bubble gum pink or purplish pinks ?

Yellow Sapphire  


Unheated golden and lemon yellow sapphires displaying  an intensity of fire and colour achieved through the presence of the trace element iron within the crystal.

 

Large and intense coloured yellow sapphire like these unheated gems are most often associated with Sri Lanka and the Elahera region in the North of the island and are also available upon request.
